Drilling Techniques Dept., Well Casing Dept., Drilling Engineering Dept., Well Completion and Improved Well Productivity Lab.

Key Focus Areas

• Drilling programs for wildcats, exploration, production and special-purpose wells.
• Engineering support of full-range well construction: rig-up, drilling and completion.
• Development of innovative solutions in well drilling, work-over, conservation or re-activation and abandonment.
• Studies of process-dependent parameters of chemicals, materials and structure of mud systems, oil-well cements, specifiai-purpose composites and fluids.
• Development of recommendations on application of oil-well cements and buffer fluids.
• Development of regulations on drilling technique, completion and lifting procedures, including those for underbalanced drilling, multidirectional wells, shelf drilling with up to 6 km drift from vertical.
